About Doug
When I was five years old, I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I believe that He died on a cross to save us from our sins. He is the only way to eternal salvation. So go here if you really want to know something relevant about me. I have been a weather nut since I was 5 years old. In 1979, Hurricane Daivd came through New Jersey (where I was born), and I have been fascinated with weather ever since. I used to be scared of thunder and lightning as a kid, but now I love to sit and watch it. I have a B.S and M.S. in meteorology from N.C. State University (Go Wolfpack!). I don't like when people ask me what TV station I work for. I don't believe in global warming. I'm proud to be a Yankee. There is not enough snow in N.C. for me - I miss sledding. Snapple Peach Iced Tea is the best beverage ever made. One of the best experiences of my life was traveling to India and being on a ship on the Indian Ocean for 6 weeks. It made me appreciate what we have in America. The Taj Mahal is smaller in person than in pictures - a little disappointing, but nice. I wish I was better at playing baseball. I like cats better than dogs. My favorite pet was Chester, an orange tabby. One time I accidently ran over one of our cats - a black cat sleeping on a black driveway at night is hard to see. My favorite pizza toppings are pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. I don't like to eat cauliflower, asparagus, and zucchini. But I have a trick for food I don't like - put parmesan cheese on it. I like blue cheese dressing that is really chunky. I can curl my top lip like Elvis - it scares small children. I worked at McDonald's for 8 years, mostly just on weekends. Overall, I'm a quiet person until I get to know someone. My favorite sports teams are the New York Yankees, the Carolina Hurricanes, and the Dallas Cowboys. Being a Yankee fan runs in the family. I was really into auto racing until my favorite driver died (Alan Kulwicki). I love to play handbells. I don't have a Jersey accent except when I say "sauce". I have one older brother who I have always gotten along with. The happiest day of my life was August 26, 2000 when I married my best friend, Carla. |
