Homemade Rice-A-Roni

Ingredients
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups chicken or beef broth
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Soak rice overnight in warm water and some homemade whey or lemon juice. Drain.
- Saute rice in butter in small 2-quart pot over medium heat until rice is golden brown.
- Add broth and seasonings. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to lowest possible setting, cover, and allow to cook for 45 minutes. Do not take the lid off during cooking!
Notes
- I used to add pasta (for the "Roni" part) but it's totally unnecessary.
